What type oil for 1991 ford ranger?

Are you asking which engine oil? Then conventional 5W-30, you pick the brand that you like. Transmission oil? Mercon.

during hot months recommend 10w 30 if over 100 degree temps unless specified on the cap


I've always used 5w30 and during 100 degree weather I'd add something like STP or another brand motor treatment, but ONLY when you got the daily 100's.
