as soon as i start my car the alternator pully gets super hot and melts my drive belt why
Sounds like the bearings on the pulley are seized. Time for a new alternator.
no the alternator is near new ive just replaced it and possibly didnt have to as old one does the same its definatly electrical i can unplug the lead onto the alterator and it does not heat up but of course it wont charge then also it takes only seconds before the pulley gets so hot it starts melting a new belt ...take wire off fine no charge ?????
Sounds like the alternator is in full field mode, take it in and have the charging and battery tested, if I remember right this models charging system is controlled by the computer.
yes ime at my wits end ive checked all sorts the ignition and earthing ..fuse boxes but find nothing at fault so i guess ill have to take it to an auto electrician ouch i bet .taz anyway for ur help...
