the engine in my 2001 mitsubishi will rotate but will not start. new computer, front ecu, camshaft sensor and has been rekeyed. scan code is P1610
You may have to get the vehicle to a dealer so they can re-program the ECM to match the key. It sounds like your key is not matched to the vehicle and the theft deterrent system is not allowing the engine to start.
I found this for reference as well: http://mitsupartsworld.com/Diamante%20TSB/tsb0613003.pdf
Ok thanks mark for your advise. can I reprogram it or will I haft to take it to the dealer there are none in my area that I know of? one again ty
I don't know 100% but I believe only the dealer has the tool to access and reprogram the ECM. And just for the heck of it.. If you have a spare key, try it as well as a last ditch effort.
After replacing the Ecm in my eclipse can u tell me ifi should beable to have communication when a scanner is hooked up?
