my 1992 ford taurus power seat stopped working completely in the full forward position. Is it possible to buy a separate power seat switch? Is this the best solution to the presenting problem?
My 1992 Ford Taurus power seat stopped working today after I moved it to the full frontal position in order to put a baby car seat in the back (bummer). Now none of the power seat functions work at all. Is my best bet to get a new switch? do they sell them separately and where?
You need to replace your power seat motor. Ford parts department would be the best place to find that. hopefully they still make the part!
this is a real ford conundrum, I do believe what you've done is extended the track to far forward. If the seat has come to far forward the motor will stop.this is to prevent the seat from come right of the rail. If you take a soft 2pound or so rubber mallet and smack the front of the rails using the slide back button at the same time as striking it.This might fix your problem , also look underneath the seat to make sure return tension spring has not fallen lose. If so re afix it. Good Luck
you can replace the switch in the seat.
