i hane a 1994 cougar the shifter cable broke and have tried to find one or fix this one with bike cable but no luck so far anyone got any ideas or know how to get the part ?

Can't believe the dealer wouldn't be able to get it. If not then it is a discontinued item, so you would have to look for an aftermarket part either at a parts store, or on line.

Try a local salvage yard or look around on Ebay. The shifter cable is discontinued from Ford.
