Dealership deception.

Asked by Al Jan 29, 2023 at 11:35 PM about the 2019 Ford F-150

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

Why can a dealership keep an add up with you after a vehicle is sold, just to

draw additional customers? I called the dealership that took my deposit and

they corresponded with me even after the vehicle was sold just to get me to

come to the lot. My issue with this was the day I paid the $500.00 deposit to

reserve the truck as per the store policy requested to hold the truck. We had a

bad blizzard that closed some roads and where the dealership was located the

highway had a multi-vehicle crash, I called the dealership and informed them I

could not come out so postponed it for the next day. The roads were still

terrible but I did make it there, only to find that the truck had been sold two

days before I came out.

The dealership is Champion Ford, the name of the sales manager is Callum

Allen. Vin# 1FTFW1E50KKD41036 Stock : R4802

This is a disgusting practice just to gain sales risking customers well being.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Used Car Sales. Used car dealers are scum, and your assumption is correct. Maybe the best way to prevent this from happening is to never deal long distance. Always be there in person... I see this a lot on CarGurus' site.
