Really simple, sell your Ford and buy a Chevrolet.

yes, buy a chevy so that you can swap in a ford rear. then buy a bunch of forged internals for the chevy motor because the stock motors hold up as good as a soggy bread when you start generating any amount of power.

get suspension. upper and lower doubel adjustable control arms. it will help with launch. adding more hp to your engine will only go so far without a good suspension. you can make your car faster without adding hp.

345

hey kyle, how did you get a 2010 camaro, when they havent made it to production yet, they are expected to start production on april 12th???? you can bid on one on ebay that is PRE-PRODUCTION for about 39,000

I would throw some Longtube headers, and offroad exhaust, gears, suspension for sure that includes, sub frame connectors, adj upper control arms and boxed lowers, adj rear shocks, adj sway bar will get you down the track better, and have better et's, a good cam and some good spark would be a wise investment

35

I already have everything you just listed except for the sub frame connectors which are coming soon. Thanks man

i agree wit ya there man..... But i hate when people do that, put all ford stuff in a chevy car, or vis versa. But if it's something drastic like a Mazda RX-7 with a turbo charged corvette engine in it? Then that's just sweet!! Such a light car with 600 hp...

345

well if you have all those things, id say get a blower or turbo. i have a supercharger on mine now and makes a world of difference. id actually would get a turbo if you can. i do believe you can with a supercharged setup, not 100 percent bout turbos but im sure you can as well.

345

and i have no respect for anyone who says to buy a chevy when they are asking for legit' opinions about their ford. when your new camaro has a recall, and it will cause all new cars do, i hope someone says wow, you should have bought a honda. Wouldnt have these problems.

I don't know where you got your info from but it's wrong. You can already get a 2010 Camaro (not that I would want want one cause they're FUGLY IMO). Dealers already have them on the lots and I have seen several of them around here in the last month. And NO they didn't have M plates on them.

So far I see you are just getting dumped on with buy a Chevy advice which is not what you are looking for. I have some advice that may not have been thought of. Before I go into this I want you to know that I have been using products from this company for 16 years now and it is all that I use. I would suggest you change all your lubricants over to Amsoil synthetic. www.amsoil.com I use their oils, gear lubes, filters, antifreeze, and fuel additives. I can say from experience that you will gain HP and gas mileage. It will not be huge gains but maybe 3% or so but you will gain a smoother shift, a cooler engine, etc. I hope this helps and gives you what you are looking for as far as ideas and advice. :)

345

i went to chevy's website, and it stated that production starts april 12th and customers could put in a pre-production order.

345

when i said to buy a chevy i was being sarcastic. i dont have a problem with chevy really, they aren't my cup of tea, buuut i dont care for one track minded people.

345

whats your car run now? how much hp it make? id emagine that if you had all these things done it would be a pretty quick car already.

there's a new budget blower out for the boss 302, it can add on 100hp if u put the right pulley on it and tune it right. i saw it in a magazine somewhere.

35

I haven't run it yet, gotta get some drag radials first, these tires suck.. It has stock heads, it's only a 302 bored .30 over. With exhaust.. I'm guessin it might make around 270 at crank, but i don't know.. Going to have it tuned here soon and dynoed..

35

I like turbo's better, but i would put a super charger on there too, it's just a lot of money for either one, plus we have the original motor out of the car, and we might have it built into a 347 stroker, so we'll see.

345

to build a good 347 you could buy a blower on ebay. i see them for sale pretty cheap. yeah the heads def need to change. heads, cam, intake make the biggest diffference. if you have a good strong block in ur car now, id change the heads with better flowing ones. you can pick up almost 50 hp with good heads.

Put a Chevy in it.... The only fast ford I have seen is on my V.C.R....

Alight, I have a 1968 mustang, with a 347 stroke kit. The best bang for you buck at this point is a set of AFR heads. I recommend the 175/65 set. Mine cost around 1500.00 (dont forget to get a good set of headers too). After that i recommend upgrading the suspension. For this try LauelMountainMustang.com They have the most complete suspension kits for these cars. Priced mined for around 850.00 and comes with everything you could ever want. Those are my suggestions.

345

compared to what you have and own, his ford is extremely fast. when he pulls away from you it would like he was in fast foreward, i can see your confusion

55

I'd go with a good set of heads and a bigger cam then based on everything else you already said you have done. If you wanna stay N/A, I'd go with a stoker. Just curious, what happened to the factory EFI ?

285

I have a 98 cobra, and the best mod I ever made was an Auburn LSD, I was able to launch stronger by putting more ponies on the pavement, and cornering capabilites was tremedously improved.

15

the rule is cubic inch rules start a 408 on the side or a 545... got any parts for sale

75

centerforce dual friction clutch, comp cams 286 duration cam with 1.7 roller rockers, be sure to check clearance between valve and piston at top dead center or you can kiss your motor goodbye. i managed to get 425hp and 11.63 quarter mile time.

sell your mustang and buy a 2004 svt cobra.... i had one with a kenne bell supercharger and it had so much power...and i can't believe thats the original engine its really clean

first of all if ur a chevy lover y the hell did u open the topic about a mustang go find urself a chevy topic. if i were u id work on the internals u have a good starting ground. if internals supercharge that beast man way worth it for a motor like dat.

a 5.0 with roushe air intake and supercharged with headers can beat your gay ass camaro zl1 50000$ car dont got jack to ford mustangs.

Cheapest horsepower for the bucks -- Nitrous. Nothing you can do is easier or will produce more power for less dollars.
