After replacing the fuel pump and fuel filter on my 1997 mercury villager and driving it 2 miles it cut off and won't start again. What could the problem be?

Replace the fuel pump relay, just in case. Check the inertial cut off in the trunk, also. Also, replace the fuel filter.

Susan it could be the carb needs cleaning did you runit out of gas. ? did it loose power befor it died or did it just die.
