Since its a part that wears out over time it time to replace it. Spraying cleaners an lubricants in there will only make it worse. 94 to 99 Mercs all have the same drive motor assembly. It has two little tab like structures in there that act as lifter bits similar to a elevator for the window pane to go up an down. While kind of a newsence you would be wise to take to your trusted mechanic or ( dare i say FORD dealer ) for replacement.

Often, it's a $50 Nylon Gear Kit that needs to be replaced in the window motor. It takes more knowledge of Fords than it does skill to change out. There are a couple of dimples in the steel panel under the door trim panel that need to be drilled so you can get a 5/16" socket on 2 of the 3 window motor screws. Pop the motor out, remove the one phillips head screw, remove the worn out gear kit and all the pieces, replace, lubricate and off you go!
