Only if you want to risk frying every electrical component in the vehicle, disconnect the battery with the engine running can cause a voltage spike that can and does cause damage that can get expensive very fast. So DO NOT disconnect the battery with the engine running.

It will not stay running if you disconnect the battery cable. Do NOT try it, you have been warned.
