Turning on Screen all the time

Asked by GuruCJTYX Mar 14, 2019 at 03:01 PM about the 2019 Jeep Cherokee

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Purchased new 2019 Jeep Cherokee and the only way the screen will come on is you have to turn the radio on first.  I want the screen to light up as soon as the engine is turned. Right now I have to have the radio on 100% of the time if I want to see a lite screen.  There must be a setting I have not found.  Please advise.

I'm having the same issue with my 2020 Grand Cherokee Limited - The display is only operable with the radio in the "on" position. A bit absurd but apparently the case. Anyone have a different experience or get a different answer from Jeep?

I tried many different things. I just got a 2021 cherokee limited . I press the climite control and it turns off the radio but keeps the screen on. try some of the controls on the screen. see if that works for you.

I have the same problem, you have to have the radio on for the GPS to work. If you don’t want the radio on you need to press the mute button and the GPS will stay on.

There doesn't seem to be an answer! Turning the radio on with the volume down is sheer stupidity on the part of Dodge manufacturing! Having to plug your IPhone in for GPS is even dumber. Maybe they need to go to school in Japan or China??? Totally disappointed in this featureless part of my new 2022 Cherokee Latitude Luxury edition.

Yes, stupid design. The screen should have opt in features on opt out. I suspect Sirius has something to do with this. Fiat Chrysler has forgotten what the customer wants and stuffs things in customers do not want. Very disappointed with Jeeps software issues. This has been going on for years and Jeep has ignored what the customers are saying about their products.

Same Problem here, Grand Cherokee 2020. And the radio turn on and off every 3 minute like a clock. ¿Does anyone with this same problem?
