41 Plymouth P12 runs but has no lights

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just purchased a 1941 Plymouth Special Deluxe 2 door Sedan.  It was
converted to a 12 volt system by the previous owner (not guy i bought from).
She was doing great going down the road but had no turn signals.  I did have
head, tail, dash and brake lights.  I switched on high beams and about 20
minutes later every light in the car went out.  I had nothing.  After having her
towed home and given time to sit, I tried again still no lights.  But the
aftermarket turn indicator now has a light on it.  Very confused as the car
drives just fine, no battery or charging issues.  Does anyone know why/what
happened and where I can even begin to look to fix?
