How do I get the headlight out in my 2001 mazda protege?

Are you asking about removing the just the headlight bulb or the assembly? The bulb is accessed from the backside of the assembly, remove the cover and plug to access the bulb. To remove the assembly you have to remove the bumper cover to access the bolts that hold the headlight assembly on the car.
