how do you change a strut in a 1993 ford escort

I need to change the rear passenger side strut on a 1993 ford escort the center post of a realtivley new strut 2-3 years old came through after a trailing arm broke. Replaced the trailing arm now I need to replace the strut. Not sure if there are any speceial tools needed or if it something I can do.
