This is not specific to MB but perhaps it will help ----- https://repairpal.com/how-to-perform-a-basic-drive-cycle

Thanks so much. This answer seems to indicate that the process is dependent on multiple short drive cycles but the folks at the emission testing station told me it was strictly a matter of driving enough miles to trigger the reset. He indicated that the number was auto manufacturer specific. He said it could be as low as 100 miles but in rare cases as much as 1000 miles? Of course i can only determine if the computer has reset by going in and having them connect a test set. Oh well I will keep driving I guess.

If you have an OBD2 code reader it will show if there are pending codes or if the drive cycle is not complete.
