Question type: General

Yep having the same issue.  Date and time just
quit working.  Spent 45 minutes last night trying
to fix it. Ugh
Thankfully I have a service appointment tomorrow.
Will let y'all know what they say.

I just disconnected my 12v battery for about 2 min, then reconnected...Everything (date/time) works now. System reset did NOT work, but disconnecting power worked!

Find the question "date and time" on this forum, over 100 posts in the past 3 days. In a word it seems to be a satellite problem; perhaps related to an update, perhaps something else. Optima, Soul, Sorento and Niro owners have rung in on this. I got my Niro clock back by hitting the reset button (see picture) with a ballpoint pen. Some have reported success by disconnecting the battery for several minutes - this could prove difficult to do with a hybrid. If the reset button doesn't work, consider turning off the main fusebox switch, located in the center of the fuse box, for 10 minutes. Pulling the MultiMedia fuse for 30 seconds did not fix the problem for me.

It happened to me as well. You don’t have to disconnect your cables. Just go into the fuse box and flip the yellow switch to off for a few minutes. Much easier than messing with the cables. (I have a 2017 Sportage.)

2017 Sportage, mine too, as of this weekend 8/17/2019, clock is just dashes and after 2 days the nav indicates it's at least 10 minutes off.

Same thing happened to my 2017 Sportage over the weekend. Disconnected the battery cables. Clock date and time came back. Seems ok now. KWT

Thank you for the fuse box solution. One thing, car must be on for it to work. Does anyone know what happened? I have a 2017 Kia Sportage too! Weird! Time and date disappeared on Saturday August 17 2019...

Resetting several times and turning the fuse box off didn't work but removing the SD card for a few minutes while the car was running did.

Removing the SD for a minute worked!!!!!! Had removed for less time earlier, and it didn't work.

I'm so glad to know I'm not alone. I also have a 2017 Sportage. I thought I was going crazy. I get the dashes as well, and also the time is so screwed up on my gps. Thanks everyone, I will let you know how it goes, I will try removing my SD card.

just noticed date and time missing today, SD card out for a couple of min while engine running, everything back to normal.

Have a 2017 KIA Sportage EX clock and date quit working about 2 weeks ago took to my service dept and was told it was a KIA problem Satellite problem. I tried the reset button first did not work then I turned the fuse off (yellow switch) for 10 minutes with the motor running and that solved the problem. This information should be passed on to the KIA service dept so they can help their customers instead of not knowing what to do
