Anyone experience problems with replacement key from dealer?

Asked by Dec 31, 2013 at 04:08 PM about the 1999 Lexus GS 400

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My old fobs broke or cracked.  Dealer was able to replace with new key and fobs without
programming since he could use old chips. Worked fine for a week , then remote
wouldn't always work consistently , sometimes even they car wouldn't, start with out
actuating the door locks a few times manually. Then the  remotes for the fobs just
stopped working completely. Is it the batteries - perhaps in stock was old, definitely a mis
communication issue--should the keys have been programmed? Advice welcomed

Could be a combination of things, such as a weak battery. Replace the batteries and see if that helps, if not then they will need to be programmed again....http://blog.keylessentryremotefob.com/2013/06/2000-lexus- gs300-key-fob-remote.html
