My 2003 RX300 tends to overheat while driving with the ac on in the city. The manual says to turn off the a/c. Not a very comfortable solution. Any suggestions?
check for paper or objects like cats stuck in front grill that will restrict air flow. 2nd make sure your engine fan turns on when you turn a/c on!. Make shure you have all your plastic panels cause air funneling is important. If that still doesnt work you probably have a poor cooling problem which i doubt. your engine fan is probably not turning on or paper bag got stuck underthere
Check coolant and thermostat. This is most likely the issue.
Check for proper cooling fan operation, at least 1 fan should be in operation with the AC on, also make sure that the air flow through the radiator is not blocked ie dead bugs, dirt etc.
