My over drive light flashs and my car will not accelerate in drive only reverse

Overdrive flashing means there is a fault or overheating of the transmission. Based on the age of your car, and if over 120K miles, your looking at a rebuild or replacement.

Trans is controaled by a computer,have it checked,especally with flashing over drive light.
