4WD on Sportage auto 4 cyl.

Asked by Oct 20, 2008 at 10:36 AM about the 2001 Kia Sportage

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi...my 4WD has gone out and I've been told it's a vacuum line.  Do you have any info on this?  Thank you...Maureen

The front hubs of your 4wd system are controlled by vacuum lines. The rubber they're made out of will rot and break due to age. There is a line going to each front wheel. I have seen this several times.
