2015 Ford ESCAPE RADIO PROBLEM

Asked by Groovy1969 Nov 15, 2020 at 09:31 PM about the 2015 Ford Escape

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can anyone tell me of a fix concerning my 2015 escape ... with key out of
ignition turn on radio and it will only play 2-3 minutes and radio shuts off
along with display  cannot turn back on ! Owner's manual states it should
play an hour .
Put key in ignition turn to 'ACC' nothing happens until you turn ignition to
the fully 'on' position ( engine not running ) then display will light up and read
'batt low audio off'
Then start engine radio and display can then be turned on !
Replaced battery once for this back in June of 2020 problem was fixed then
radio would turn on and play for a solid hour ( without key) as owner's
manual states!
Well problem started again same scenario this past week and took it to my
local Ford dealer they said battery was reading a 'little low' and suggested I
replace it again ( alternator checked out fine )
Replaced battery and solved problem for one day (would operate for a solid
hour without key then shut off ! Today it is back to only operating 2-3
minutes then shuts off along with the display just like the original problem !!!
( but not reading Batt low audio off ! )
( Battery voltage checking 12.6 v ) Any suggestions ... my dealer states that
there us not a site where the dealer has access to other dealer's odd quirky
symptoms to be shared among themselves !
