2014 15k miles, ambient heat causes fan to come on undfer hood, what is that, and why does it come on?
Can't find in owners manual. Normal driving does not cause fan to turn on, only when heat wave, as in Southern California, or long driving days.
When you drive on the highway, at...say... 60mph, or as slow as even 45 there is no reason to run a fan, The air-flow is plenty, more than enough to pass through A/C condenser and radiator and cool them. Now if you mean at idle, then ....sure, the fan will kick in to create air-flow. There is a sensor for that very reason
Take it to the dealer, or your favorite good mechanic and have them check it- is it overheating? They can explain it to you although Mr. Nut did a pretty good job-
