I have a 95 crown Victoria my wife drove to work and came right back to take the kids to school tried to crank and nothing tap the starter it clicks put in a new starter and same result any ideas
Check the battery cable connections. Make sure they're all clean and tight. Switch on the headlights and try to start it. Do the lights stay nice and bright? Or do they dim or go out? If they dim have the battery load tested. Most auto parts stores will test them for free. If the lights stay bright it's going to be the starter, starter solenoid, or neutral safety switch. Move the shifter through all the gears quickly a few times. If it starts it's the neutral safety switch. Try starting it in neutral as well. HTH. -Jim
