How many people are not getting good mileage from their 2014 Subaru Outbacks?

I am getting terrible mileage from my new Outback.  My 2010 Outback gets much better mileage.  Why?

How many miles have you driven so far? The first 1K miles are the worst. The car needs to break in.

What engine do you have? The 3.6L will get less MPG. 17 city 25 hwy. The 2.5L is listed at 24City, 30 Highway

You probably have the 3.6 with the conventional automatic transmission. That engine accelerates about two seconds faster than the Four, but, the mileage is horrible.
