My 2001 JGC 4.7 V8 has just had an oil change. The oil guage has started reading very high. I'm certain that the oil level is ok. And the correct oil has been used. Is it likely to be the sending unit being faulty. Thanks Ian Belfast.

So your certain the oil level is ok, but did you check?

Tom, Yes I checked the oil yesterday and today. Its right where it should be.

Most likely the sender, but if you really want to double check you can install a manual gauge under the hood. That will give you an idea on what actual pressure is.
