Contour SE 2.5 L V6 engine harness

Asked by Jul 27, 2011 at 10:49 PM about the 1995 Ford Contour

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1995 Contour SE manual 2.5L V6 engine harness covering flakes off. What other
years of Contour harness can fit my 1995. When did flaking stop? What good harness
can be used to replace my 1995? What do you suggest I do to replace it? Still
desperate.   windl@verizon,net

what do you mean by engine harness covering?if you mean the plastic covering that the wires run through, not really much you can do about that except tape them with black tape.

The '95 model was the only year of the flaking jacket. Ford covered them until 100k miles (surprising you have one that wasn't fixed under warranty) although mine missed the warranty by a couple miles, I ended up paying about $1200 for the harnesses (back in 2003, from Ford).
