Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi! What is the ideal temperature for coolant in
winter time?

It's all depends on what thermostat you have in the engine, most run around 197 degrees at full operational temps. Now this doesn't mean that the cooling fans turn on at that temp, they are usually set somewhat higher, some I've seen at 220 degrees. However some vehicles that are running power chips or other performance enhancing products choose to run cooler thermostats.

Same as the summer time.
