The heater switch on my dash broke. How do I remove and replace in 1985 benz 190e

If you are referring to the blower switch - probably stuck in one position and no longer slides - (1) PULL the switch knob off by pulling it toward you; you can use pliers but cover the knob with a cloth to protect it (2) GENTLY remove the wood panel by working around the edges but be careful not to bend it; it has a thin metal backing. (3) you will now see the fan switch unit which is screwed in - remove any screws and pull toward you. (4) REplace with NEW unit - available for around $125 - (5) and reverse the above steps.
