E-350 dies while driving and turns back on after an Hour

Asked by Feb 14, 2017 at 12:49 PM about the 2001 Ford E-350

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What sensors could be doing this? It always resets, but it
happens at different times. During Turns, bumps, or at a
red light. Not always only randomly. The power steering
goes out while the motor is still on. I cannot give it to
much gas because it bogs down further as I try to pull off
the road. I have to keep the gas steady to get off the road
before I completely decelerate. Once pulled over the
battery and started cranck the car it turns over many
times but then bogs out and dies. After and 1-1.5 hrs the
engine starts again without hesitation.

I would have the vehicle scanned for any trouble codes. If there are any that would let you know what to look at.
