2013 Rio is making a wu wu noise in the front when moving

Asked by Jul 06, 2015 at 09:23 PM about the 2013 Kia Rio

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2013 Kia Rio makes a wu wu noise in the front (sounds like the front left) when the car
is moving.  Stops when not moving.  I had the bearings check and they are ok.  The
mechanic said it was tire noise.  I have the tires rotated and balanced every 6,000 miles
and the tires have at least 30,000 miles left on them.  The car has about 71,000 miles on
it.  Any ideas?

It wouldn't hurt to get a second opinion on the hub bearings, that is a classic symptom of their going bad, that and get the tires/rims balanced - although if those are out of whack (or the tire had a bad belt) you should have felt something while driving in addition to the wu-wu noise.

Double checking the bearings is a good idea, but my money is on the tires.
