Does anyone know of a programmer for the ECU to increase HP/torque
I'm not looking to achieve an outlandish 500 horses with a new turbocharger but is there anything else you would recommend to improve performance? Also what are you thoughts on Octane boosters?
Which engine do you have? That is an incredible stretch considering most of the engines are in the low to mid 100 hp ratings. With the same for torque ratings. APEX makes good systems for Mazda. As far as Octane boosters you usually don't need any until you get above 10.5-11 to 1 compression (roughly).
Look at www.bulldog.com as they they have reprogramers, but pricey as well as others that does not come to mind at present. I would look for a a performance shop for mazada's and let them super tune. Is your car stock? There are several ways to get better performance & mileage. #1, Breathers for the intake. The stock is too restrictive, #2. Exhaust. Increase the size of the muffler & pipe to relieve the back pressure. You can leave your muffler off if you still maintain a catalytic converter. I would scout around the wrecking yards for a used catalytic converter off a Dodge diesel as the older units 95/98 models had 3 inch pipe which would give your car a mellow tone without being too loud.
I have the 2.3L turbochared with 261 hp; the 2012 Mazda 3Speed 2012.

Also I'm using 91 octane with octane booste as well and it increases it as well; do you know if this reduces the engine life (too much wear and tear)? Anyone?
Your octane boost is not necessary but does not hurt. People get confused on fuel. The lower the octane, the more radical the ignition in the cylinder. The higher the octane, the more control burn in the cylinder. High compression & varilbe boost [Turbo or blower) requires this higher octane. Since the burn is slower, it lasts longer in the power stroke pushing down for the power. Hope this helps you understand the octane ratings.
Octane boosters do not do much at all. Want a real octane boost? Look into water injection, water has unlimited octane and removes a tremendous amount of heat when it changes to steam. To reach 500hp you would need a larger turbo, larger fuel injectors, stronger axels and transmission, tuning via a reflash or standalone/piggyback ecu. upgraded fuel pump, upgraded ignition system, Might need stronger rods, pistons, headstuds etc.

Make sure your upgrade the High Pressure Fuel Pump as well if you changing component to the exhaust systems or you risk to blown your engine. Check mazdaspeedforums.org for more info.
