2012 silverado CD player stays on after turning off truck, please advise thank you

That's the retained accessory power (RAP) feature. It will stay on for 10 minutes after the ignition is turned off or until any door is opened. HTH. -Jim

your sure when I opened the door next morning it was on and my truck battery was done. put in new battery was ok , now again happening. please advise

Then it's a problem with the RAP module. The accessories should time out after 10 minutes from the time you turn off the ignition or until any door is opened. Whichever comes first. HTH. -Jim

why is it only hitting my CD / player ? Dealer said I need new radio and with installation , switch out $627 wow . Please advise thank you.James

I'm sure you can get a good used one on eBay for half that! Maybe even your local junkyard. If you have a radio repair shop near you, they may be able to repair it for you much cheaper. HTH. -Jim
