Mini country man
I went on vacation for two weeks and didn’t
use my car and when I came back the check
engine light was on. But it wasn’t on before I
left. Should I be worried? Is it safe to drive?
If that's the only problem you're having in a seven year old Mini, you're fortunate: they aren't known for any longevity at all. First, check the gas cap and make sure it's not loose. Then go to a car parts store and have any codes associated with the CEL read; probably free. If the CEL isn't blinking, the problem is probably on the minor side, but with a car like that, you need to be vigilant.
