Gap in service history
I recently bought a used Audi A5 and when I got
home I couldn't find the service book. It's 3 years
old. When I contacted the dealership (harratts - it
was sold with full service history) they apologised
and said they'd chase it all up. So far they have the
service they carried out plus a previous one.
However, there is no service for the first 21 months
of the cars life (therefore not full service history).
They assure me they saw the book when it came in
a fit had a full service history. They're now dragging
there heals trying to find out and I'm coming to the
end of my 30 day window from when I purchased
the car. Can anyone help or advise on what I should
do with this 'gap' in the service history? Should and
can the car Ho back?
Just because there is no record of service, doesn't mean it didn't happen. I think you are worrying for nothing. If it's running and driving fine now and your happy with it, enjoy it.
But when I come to sell it down the line the resale wil be significantly less won't it?
