Ford Contour Trouble Starting

Asked by Jul 30, 2014 at 11:31 AM about the 1996 Ford Contour

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I drive a 96 Ford Countour and
recently it started having troubles
starting but only in the morning. It
won't turn over, the check engine
light, oil light etc all come on. After 4
or 5 tries I am able to get it started
by pumping the has pedal repeatedly
halfway through turning the key.
Then it starts normally throughout the
rest of the day. Any ideas? Thanks so
much!

Fuel pump or fuel filter. Sounds like its starved for fuel in the morning.
