You should have a regular key in your key fob that will open the drivers door.

There is apparently a problem that often comes up in the CRV. The key is supposed to unlock the door, but apparently there is a problem (as I have experienced) where that is no longer the case. With the battery dead, the mechanical key doesn't open the door. My 2012 CRV was locked with a dead battery and I couldn't open it with the key. I called my roadside assistance and they were able to pry the door open enough to fish a rod inside and open the door. After charging the battery, I found that the remote key worked fine, but the mechanical key still didn't open the door. I found other reports of this on the internet.
