X5 (e70) Error Codes
I have just used my X5 battery to jump start my neighbours car, but now have
error codes on my dashboard relating to the airbag/restraint systems. How can
I fix this, please?
Simple cheap fix reset if ur lucky remove positive and negative battery cables and run a jumper wire to the unconnected terminals to discharge the ecm\ ecu \ contest Bart with volt meter if still 12 volts install terminals and start thus hopefully resetting ecu good luck
Thank you for your reply, am about to try this. Sorry, if the answer is obvious but what do you mean by "contest Bart with volt meter"? Many thanks.
I don't think you should do that , better get another opinion , at any rate now you know that modern cars with all their electronics should not be giving jump starts , like many other things in todays world they can't handle adversity
Error code for airbag/restraint systems have now gone but a system fault for the DSC system has now appeared. Frustrating.
Attempted to clear clear the DSC fault with an OBD device. It kept returning until I cleared it and then drove the car a few 100 metres. Let's hope neither fault returns. Many thanks for your help. Happy motoring.
