Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I get out of my 2011 GMC Terrain & lock the doors, the light sensor in the center of the dash turns red for about 10 secs then starts flashing,  This continues until I unlock the car.

when it turns red it is arming the security system- when it is blinking, it is warning potential thieves that the alarm is active- it shuts off because when you unlock the car, you are disarming the security system.

The point we are all Making is the red light never use to be on. So how do we dis arm or turn it off. Go to a use car lot, none of the red lights are flashing
