Front seat headrest

Asked by Guru5X5C4 Jan 07, 2018 at 10:20 AM about the 2011 Kia Sorento

Question type: General

Within the last two months, both of my front headrests
have now broken off. There are no children, pets or adults
abusing them.  The passenger side barely gets used. I
have not been in an accident.  Is there anyone else
experiencing  a similar problem?

Yes both of my front headrests broke off too from my 2011 Sorento! They broke within a month apart. I hardly ever have a front passenger so the wear is very little. I’m not sure how to get these fixed.

My passenger side headrest came apart too! Is this a common problem?

Both of mine also fell off! Sounds like a common problem! Replacement seems to be about 250.00 bucks! Any other suggestions?

Mine broke off on my 2013 passenger side. Kia wants to charge me $500 because they have to replace the whole think and can't or won't just replace the broken clips

Hey folks, I had the same issue with my wife's car and it turns out it's not too difficult to replace the active headrest assembly (even though Kia says not to do it). I had to fiddle with it for about an hour, but the actual procedure only takes a few minutes. Go to a junkyard and watch this video for how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GlDu6_-ADA
