Heater/AC only works on #4 and make the car run rough

Not sure if I am saying this correctly. I have a 2010 Ford Escape. Only
67,000 miles. I have owned it for only 6 months. I noticed that when I turn
on my A/C or defrost/heater it only works on #4. It does blow cold/hot like it
is suppose to but when it runs the car seems to run loud and rough. Of
course it's not under warranty and I'm poor ;) so I will have to wait to take it
to the garage. Any idea what this may be? More importantly, if I wait to get
it fixed will it cause other issues that will need to be fixed? I know nothing
about cars so please remember that when responding. lol. Thank you!

Sounds like the blower resister Pack is almost shot ... The running rough may be from the AC coming on with the defrost ... and NO it probably won't hurt anything .... but if you lose the only speed you have left on the heater ,,, your gonna freeze your butt off. Go on Ebay and look for the best price for that resistor but be sure it's for a 2010
