Why does my 2005 Hyundai Elantra makes the seatbelt "chime" whenever I step on the brakes, and sometimes when I turn?
For the past two days, my 2005 Elantra makes the seatbelt and door ajar chiming noise
when I'm driving. Initially, it does it only occasionally when I brake, but as I drive longer, it
occurs more frequently, until it occurs every time I step on the brakes, and then it starts
happening whenever I turn the steering wheel (even when not braking).
Could be your door ajar chime, and when the car flexes and moves it happens. Are you in a cold climate? Check your door latches for dirt, maybe spray some WD-40 in them and see if that helps.
