I'm going to agree with T_S_T; for the most part the dealer recommends most of the unusual servicing, trans, differential, complete brake system flush is around 70.000 to 100.000mi. this applies now days for the timing belt and H20 pump as well.

P.S. when you change trans fluid always change the filter. You won't be near it for another 100.000mi.

The prius has a World Standard CVT tranny that shoukd not be serviced for tje life of the car. The dealer will tell you it is sealed and can only be serviced by them. Actually it has a drain and fill plug. You should probably change it at 200k though. Simple to do yourself, it does not have a filter.

I have 3 Prii and have changed the tranny fluid many times. At 50k, the fluid is black and like water. I'd recommend a change every 30-50k.Remember, WS ATF is cheap and NOT SYNTHETIC. There are better choices in true synthetic lube that exceeds the WS spec. Many so-called synthetic lubes are not true synthetic.IT's the difference between cheap SAE Group 3 synthetic and real synthetic Group 4 with a real synthetic base. In oil, only 3 brands are Group 4: REDLINE, Royal Purple and the higher grade AMSOIL. So I use REDLINE D6 in all my Prii. It runs cooler, lasts longer and quiets the tranny like velvet. Available on Amazon for about $50.00 a gallon.Toyota WS is made for Aisin who makes many Toyo trannies. Aisin WS is often less expensive. If you read the Toyota forums, You'll see WS is very heat sensitive.
