Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It is very hard to get the car to move from a
stop light. There are no lights showing up
on the dashboard indicating that there is
anything wrong with the car? Please help I
have a feeling it may be the motor, but not

It's the transmission. The motor is revving like that because the car is still in neutral and the transmission is not working properly.

First thing to do is check the transmission fluid level. If it's ok, have a reputable transmission shop take a look at it. HTH. -Jim

I was told that I can't check the transmission fluid in a stuck that it has to be done professionally, is that true!?

Not really. But it is more difficult to check on a stick. Since it is a stick it's probably not going to be the transmission. It sounds like a slipping clutch. I assumed that it was an automatic. Sorry about that! HTH. -Jim
