I would recommend finding out WHY it's blinking first before you try to reset it. There's something not quite right about the car...have it looked into.

Found this on yarisworld.com----The light starts flashing at 4500 miles, and will stay on once you hit 5000 miles. When you change your oil, the mechanic or you resets the light, and then it will start flashing again 4500 miles after you reset the light. So nothing is wrong with the car, change the oil, have the mechanic reset the light.

This may also help. Found at jsbrooks----I own a 2009 Toyota Yaris. I love it ... a lot. But, if you have one and are mystified on how to turn off the darned Maintenance Required light (which only tells you it's time to change the oil ... which isn't covered in the manual by the way), here's how it is done! Put the key in the ignition and switch the car on (but don't start it). Set the trip meter to A, turn off the car again. Now, first push in the trip meter button, then turn the ignition key to on. The trip meter numbers will turn to dashes, the Maintenance Required light flashes and 5 second later it goes out.*

Good answer, dandyoun! There's been a couple of times when the mechanic forgot the reset the maintenance indicator on my previous car, a Volvo S40. Either that...or your last post about the person owning the '09 Yaris, should help out the OP!

People do that often...get confused between the CEL and Maint Required lights. And dandyouns explanation is perfect, it worked just like that on my Corolla
