HAD MY TRANSMISSION FIXED , CODE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi everyone,
My ck engine light came on, so I was at the parts
store to get stuff to change oil and they checked it.
The man said that there was 2 things an one was
to change the oil. But the next one was a Po7o5
that said (  Transmission range sensor circuit
malfunction ) 2-POS.
I ALWAYS felt that the Trans was not fixed right.
If you have the car running , foot on brake, shift to
drive, take your foot off brake, you just sit there an
idle, it does not go FOWARD at all until you gas it.
Also, when you take your foot off brake it will roll
backwards, without no hill.
From past experiences,  when I had a
transmission rebuilt, it would give you more power,
this job has given no power.
I mentioned it to the guy I'm buying it from and he
said it was nothing!
I do not believe him, there is a problem, and I don't
want it to break on me.
ONE MORE THING, THE ENGINE LITE IS STILL ON
AFTER THE OIL CHANGE, IS THIS NORMAL.
THANKS EVERYONE.
SO GLAD YALL ARE HERE.

If it is the red engine light it's telling you there is no oil pressure, but if it is the yellow check engine light that will remain on until the problems are fixed and the codes are cleared. I would absolutely get the trans rechecked, either it is not adjusted right or a valve is sticking in the valve body.

It is the yellow light. And may I ask. Does a transmission have valves, I thought it just had gears. But there is defiantly something wrong with th transmission.

Ok then that light will stay on as long as there is a problem, yes transmissions have valves and seals and Pistons that make everything work by transferring pressures to different servos and bands. Most of them today are electronic and are controlled by a TCM.

Do you know what that code means??

83,265

It has to do with the selector or gear switch, could be out of adjustment or it could be bad, the tranny place can check it.

Do you know what could happen if it is not fixed? Could it keep my car from driving?

It is possible that somewhere down the road it could just stop shifting altogether.
