engine sensor light is flashing

My engine sensor light has been on for quite some time but my mechanic has checked it out and it's fine.  I just started noticing yesterday the engine light is now flashing slowly.

Go to Autozone and have the codes read. Post them back here. The check engine light is on for a reason. Did your mechanic ever say why it was on to begin with? Did he give you an error code?

My mechanic said it's typical of Honda cars. I'll check out Autozone. Thank you for your response.

That's the standard canned response a mechanic gives for 'I don't know" Like Reelin68 said, it's on for a reason -- a fault has been detected by the OBDII and a flashing light indicates a more serious fault than a steady on. There is nothing 'typical' about it. Honda is a well-engineered car Do what Reelin68 suggested asap

Find a new mechanic! A flashing check engine light is warning you that the engine is misfiring and the catalytic converter is being damaged. It's not normal by any means. HTH. -Jim
