My car just up and started having a prolonged time
to shift .what could it be ? Shift solenoid?

Hesitation is usually a defect in a solenoid at directs fluid to the selected But it might be that the transmission fluid is low or contaminated/dirty. first check the fluid. If it's OK, take the car to a trans specialist.
