Hi kherzing , Sorry to hear you are having these issues with your 09 'Cobalt. Unfortunately, I am unable to diagnose what's going on here. I suggest contacting your GM Dealership as they will be able to diagnose the problem and check to see if there are any special coverages or recalls related to the problem you are experiencing. Please keep me posted on how it goes. Vanessa GM Customer Service
Happened to me with my air intake, was experimenting with new homeade air intake, had to put stock air intake back in. Try checkin your air intake.
