back pressure- i wnat to get headers for my 1993 sierra 350 but i dont understand the back pressure thing do i need back pressure or not im not running catylitic converters only glasspacks will adding headers screw up the motor or not
yes you do need backpressure. If there is no restriction, your vehicle will not run properly. The only cars that do not need backpressure are forced induction cars (turbo, supercharged, ETC.)
No adding headers will not screw up the motor and the less restrictive your exhaust is the better it will run. Any exhaust system will produce a certain amount of back pressure but with headers and no cats it will flow better which means less backpressure.
only problem i have with getting headers is the o2 sensor thats in the driver side manifold
