Conversion van with VCR - want DVD player

Can anyone give me adivce on how to convert my 1994 GMC conversion vans VCR to a DVD player ? Wanna use existing televsion.
Is a special player required for vehicle use ? Bumps, heat etc...

No special player required, but try to get one with progressive scan so bumps don't affect the playback as much, and make sure your tv has rca plugs on it. Good luck and happy driving.

Also you will need an inverter for the new player. There are twelve volt plugs ( same as cigarett lighters) in each cubby on either side of the tv. There are single inverters that are a little larger than car charger plugs for around $20-$30. In order to run the cables to the tv you will have to remove the tv and push the cables between the divider that is between the tv space and the player space, and the " ceiling" of both spaces.
